Severe Brain Injury

Another Story
familyNystagmus & More - "Two years later: walks, runs, reads, talks, counts, sociably correct."

This testimony of Collin Schuler and severe brain injury is evidence of an answer to prayer and the power of hope.

Collin Schuler
“Colin was diagnosed with a severe brain injury when he was 11 months old, resulting in blindness, physical impairment, (developmental delay), sensory delay and seizures. His prognosis was not good. The doctors told us that he might never see, walk or talk and would be profoundly mentally retarded. Our family was crushed, feeling helpless but determined to provide a future for our son. We prayed, asking God for guidance and direction to help Colin become well.

Our prayers were answered, taking us in a direction that was reshaped and give tremendous hope for Colin’s future.

We met Matthew Newell in 2000. He has been our guiding force ever since. The Family Hope Center continuously provides support, encouragement, dedication, love and hope. Matthew is always optimistic and diligent in his work. He is an extraordinary person, and we have been blessed to know him.

Today Colin can see, read, and walk with assistance, and is currently developing his language skills. Colin has come a long way and continues to progress towards wellness, thank to the patience and fortitude of Matthew and Carol Newell.”
