How We Can Help

After hearing negative reports by other professionals, you are asking yourself how we can help. The main reason we can help is because our approach is different from the mainstream therapies and programs available.

The Family Hope Center has been able to produce exceptional results for many children around the world. The reason is that we approach the issues facing your child in a fundamentally different way. To help you better understand what makes the Family Hope Center different, we have highlighted the differences that we offer your family.

We treat the source of the problems, not the symptoms
Our Approach:
We go to the source – the brain, where the symptoms often originate - and treat the brain first. We do not focus our attention on the symptoms. When we successfully treat the effected areas of the brain, many of the symptoms begin to disappear. In other words, we go from the inside/out.

Conventional Approach: Often treats the symptoms as the problem, rather than the result of the problem. The conventional approach thus relies on medications, surgery and adaptive programs designed to help the child adjust and cope. This approach is from the outside/in.

We focus on the abilities of your child, not the disabilities
Our Approach:
We focus first on the abilities the child already has, and develop programs that improve and build on them. For example, if a child can crawl on his belly independently, we support this existing ability, while helping him develop the new ability to creep on his hands and knees. Once this new function has developed, we begin teaching the child to walk. In other words, we develop abilities in a hurt child along the same physiological pathways that a normal child's development follows. We accelerate this process, which is at root a process of brain development, by giving the child a high level of consistent, properly directed stimulation. By following this "physiological" path of development, we help the child catch up with their peers, or even surpass them.

Conventional Approach: Often looks at the pathology – the problems – the disabilities - and attempts to treat these. For example, if your child is tight, the conventional treatment is to inject botox, perform surgery, and/or medicate the child…

We view your child as a whole person, not a collection of parts and specialties
Our Approach:
In addition to a comprehensive medical and nutritional evaluation, our staff conducts a full evaluation of all of your child’s abilities in seven different areas of functioning. We thus gain a comprehensive view of your child’s function. This approach views your child as a whole person, not a collection of parts and specialties. It also leads to our ability to develop a coordinated, cohesive and comprehensive therapy strategy.

Conventional Approach: Your child may go to four or five different specialists – from whom you could receive four or five different views and opinions. Specialized therapists often do not communicate with each other very well, or very often. As a result, your child is likely to receive different and even conflicting therapies. A pediatrician typically will not consult or coordinate treatment with a nutritionist, who may not be on the same page as a neurologist, and so on. You are then faced with having to work out these inconsistencies by yourself. What therapies are the most important for your child? How do you integrate these all together in the day?

We diagnose the root cause of the problem
Our Approach:  We give a diagnosis of the root cause of the problem – the degree, extent and laterality of the lesion in the central nervous system. We do not give a prognosis as we cannot see into the future, except to affirm that your child can get better.

Conventional Approach: Your children often receive a prognosis in the form of a label.  ‘He is’… ‘He has’…  ‘He will never be able to’…. ‘For the rest of his life he will be’…

We provide families with an effective, integrated therapy system
Our Approach:
We combine our entire team's knowledge in the fields of brain development, nutrition, homeopathy, bio-meridian analysis, cranial sacral and fascia release therapy, sensory, motor, respiratory and emotional therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy ("HBOT"), neruofeedback, and more cutting edge programs, under one system - fully integrated and designed specifically for your individual child.

Conventional Approach: You, the parent, spend your precious time running from one therapist to another, getting different types of therapy and instructions that often are not integrated and sometimes are at cross-purposes.

We believe in your ability to help your child
Our Approach:
We believe that families, working together with the support of our team, can be the best therapists for their children – and will be, if properly trained. We have witnessed this thousands of times.

Conventional Approach: Conventional specialists often do not believe that family members can be taught to administer and adjust sophisticated therapies at home. As a direct result, your child may not receive the intensity, frequency and duration of therapy required to make a significant improvement in your child’s abilities.

We believe in hope
Our Approach:
We believe that hope is good – it is a virtue to hope – your children need you to hope – it is always sane and proper to hope for a better life for your child. Hope and being realistic can co-exist.  At The Family Hope Center, we hope for complete wellness for your child.

Conventional Approach: Hope is considered unrealistic. It is considered unrealistic to continue to try new approaches to unlock autism, to help your child with cerebral palsy learn to walk or talk, to help your child with serious understanding issues to understand. Many, many parents have told us, “The doctor said my child would never…”

We are always available to help
Our Approach:
At each visit to The Family Hope Center, parents are instructed and encouraged to contact us whenever they need guidance or support. We know you will have questions, and are on hand to answer them. We expect your child to change as you do your therapy program, and offer guidance on adapting your program to your child’s new situation. And we love to hear about your victories, large and small, in healing your child.

Conventional Approach: You as parents are often not in touch, week-to-week and month-to-month, with a unified team of professionals who understand your child, and what you are facing as the parents of a child with special needs. You may only feel comfortable contacting them in a crisis.
