teen-calculus-smThe short explanation of dyslexia disorder is a "reading problem", meaning a person with dyslexia has difficulty reading, writing and spelling. Traditionally, dyslexia is generally considered to be an inherited condition that is neurologically-based, that can manifest in varying degrees of severity. The condition does not result from limits in intellectual, environmental, instructional or motivational conditions.

At The Family Hope Center we have found that dyslexia is the result of a neurological problem that can be traced to compromised auditory and visual pathways in the cortical areas in the brain. This causes processing difficulties leading to problems in reading, writing, memorization and language use. Additionally, there may also be a disorganization in the midbrain, as well as a difficulty in the area of neurological dominance. This problem in the area of dominance affects the ability to receive, store and retrieve information.

The important thing that you, as a parent, need to know is that children with dyslexia can often be completely healed. Thus, instead of just “learning to cope”, your child can look forward to living a full life, with no obstacles to success. This is accomplished as you and The Family Hope Center work as a team to treat the underlying reasons for your child’s dyslexia.

That Was Then

This is Now
"Looking back, it's hard to remember that Anthony had a hard time reading..."

The staff at The Family Hope Center will conduct a complete and thorough evaluation of your child’s condition. Then a therapy plan will be created that will treat the whole child, not just the symptoms. This therapeutic approach targets the midbrain area first creating new neural pathways, which increases function in vital areas of the brain. Because children with dyslexia often misinterpret sounds, which results in confusion and language problems, we also treat the hearing pathway.

In addition, we’ve found that increasing oxygen delivery to the brain and ensuring that the cranial sacral mechanism is functioning properly greatly enhances the healing process. We also develop a diet that will restore gastrointestinal health and eliminate metabolic sensitivities to allergens and toxins.

At The Family Hope Center we believe in the importance of parental involvement in the healing process. By training you in the various therapies and processes, you become an integral part of your child’s progress. We have seen remarkable improvement in children once thought to be hopelessly dyslexic. These children are now successfully using both written and verbal communication, and have a future that is bright with opportunity. What we can do for you and your special needs child -  Dyslexia >
