girlflyingCerebral palsy disorder is a disability caused by damage to the brain before, during or following birth. This results in a loss of voluntary muscle control and coordination. Most cases are a result of prenatal problems, while ten percent of the cases are a result of oxygen deficiency during the birthing process. The extent of the compromised brain function is directly related to the severity of the disability. The severity ranges from mild, involving only a few muscular functions, to acute which can mean a complete loss of coordination and even paralysis.

Traditional wisdom says that there is no cure for the disorder, while treatments ranges from physical, occupational and speech therapy, medication, appliances and even surgery. These treatments address the disability as an impairment of the muscles, rather than an injury to the brain. At The Family Hope Center we don’t pay attention to “traditional wisdom”, and we have seen amazing results by going to the source of the problem.

Children with cerebral palsy have suffered an injury to the midbrain area of the brain. Sensory messages normally pass through the midbrain to reach the pre-motor cortex and then back. This midbrain injury compromises the passage of these sensory messages, resulting in problems controlling eye movement and a heightened sensitivity of hearing and touch. In addition, this lack of muscle control affects the ability to form words and use hands and feet in a coordinated fashion. Since the cortex usually remains undamaged, a child with cerebral palsy is often very intelligent.

The therapy developed for a child with cerebral palsy addresses the brain function first, more specifically the damaged midbrain area. At the same time the child’s rigidity is decreased by improving both the metabolic and respiratory pathways. This is accomplished without resorting to drugs, injections or surgery. By restoring the integrity of the entire musculoskeletal system, as well as the brain, we can look forward to a complete healing in a child who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

We also use a two-pronged approach in dealing with the normal function of sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing. First, we focus on the development of the sensory pathways that process signals in the midbrain before passing them on to the cortex. Once these pathways have been developed, we can then address the mobility, speech, manual dexterity and social skills that depend directly on the integrity of these pathways.

The therapy program designed to heal a child with cerebral palsy involves increasing the amount of oxygen delivered to the brain which improves the health of the brain, as well as speeds up the healing process. The program also addresses the function of the cranial sacral mechanism to ensure it is operating to its greatest potential. Thirdly, our staff develops a cleansing diet that helps to restore gastrointestinal health and reduce or even eliminate allergies and sensitivities to toxins.

This is all done with the complete participation of the parents in the therapy process. The Family Hope Center believes that you, the parents, can be the best therapists for your child. Thus we not only train you to conduct the various therapies, but we provide ongoing follow-up and support. You will be encouraged to contact our staff with any questions or concerns you may have as you administer and adjust the therapy.

If you have been told that your child’s condition is hopeless, please, do your child a favor and let us help. We believe in the power of hope, especially when we have seen thousands of children improve beyond what was even thought possible. Renew your hope and dream of a happy and productive future for your child. We will help make that dream a reality; all it takes is a phone call.
