Autism Disorder
According to the Houghton-Mifflin Dictionary autism disorder is a “psychiatric disorder of childhood characterized by marked deficits in:
communication
- social interaction
- preoccupation with fantasy
- language impairment
- abnormally repetitive acts, and
- excessive attachment to objects.
As the parent of an autistic child you are well acquainted with some, if not all, of the behaviors described. What you are looking for is answers…help…and perhaps most of all…HOPE.
At The Family Hope Center we understand you, your child and the needs that both of you have. We especially understand the necessity of maintaining hope for the future of your child. Over the years by looking at the whole child, and not focusing on the label, we have seen miraculous improvements in children once thought to be hopelessly impaired.

The experts disagree on the actual causes of autism disorder, putting forth theories blaming genetics, toxins and food allergies. Based on the fact that there are many different levels of autism, it is very possible that there many be a variety of factors that contribute to autism in different people. The same experts do agree, however, that there is a problem in the brain structure or function.
At The Family Hope Center we have found that children diagnosed with autism disorder not only have problems with metabolic sensitivities to toxins and allergens, but also have compromised brain function. Once the affected area is identified, we then develop a therapeutic strategy that will treat both contributing factors; metabolic sensitivities and impaired brain function. We don’t just treat the outward symptoms of the disorder. We look at the whole child with a goal of restoring that child to “wholeness”.

Initially, we address the metabolic sensitivities. Once these factors are identified, both for their source and affect, our staff formulates a plan that focuses on restoring and maintaining a healthy gastrointestinal tract. In this way, we eliminate the possibility of allergens and toxins as a hindrance to healing.
At the same time, we develop a program that targets the neurological causes of the child’s autism disorder. By focusing on the source of the learning, emotional, social and sensory problems, we are able to develop a therapy that treats every possible combination of factors contributing to the impairment. This approach has proven to result in amazing and noticeable improvements in the child’s behavior and ability to function.
One of the most important elements in the therapeutic methods we employ in the inclusion of you, the parents. Recognizing the importance of your involvement to the success of the therapy, we educate and train you in exactly what you need to do to be the best therapist for your child. This approach ensures that your child’s therapy is administered with the intensity and frequency necessary to effect significant improvements.
Once you and your child return home, you need to know that The Family Hope Center is only a phone call away. We want you to contact us with your questions. Knowing that as your child improves and changes you will have to adapt the program, we are always available to guide you on the best course of action. In addition, we especially want you to share with us those victories and milestones in your child’s progress.
Above all, at The Family Hope Center we believe that as long as you have hope, the impossible becomes possible. We don’t believe that hope is wrong or unrealistic. In fact, we believe that hope is absolutely necessary if you want to see a better life for your child. When you come to us after having been told that your child’s condition of autism disorder is hopeless, the first thing you will receive from us is the restoration of your hope. With hope nothing is impossible, and together we can achieve complete healing for your child. What we can do for you and your special needs child - Autism >
