Autism
With the prevelance of autism among children, many people are looking for reasons. Here are Family Hope Center we are looking for solutions.
What Do We Do for Children with Autism?
First, and critically, we identify the range and depth of the metabolic sensitivities that are affecting the child. We then develop a plan to carefully bring about the complete restoration of the gastrointestinal tract, and to balance the energy and health of the vital organs.
Simultaneously, we develop a rigorous, multi–faceted neurological approach that deals directly with the causes of the child’s learning problems, emotional and social developmental issues and sensory integration problems, instead of the symptoms. We do this because only an approach that addresses both the metabolic and the neurological issues these children deal with will lead to real improvement in their functioning and behavior.
Finally, we have found that it is critical to address the child’s cranial sacral mechanism, to ensure it is functioning to its optimal level. Often, because of the child’s injury, this mechanism is severely compromised, which complicates the problem even further. Without addressing this important aspect of the child’s overall condition, progress toward healing will be much, much slower. For more information about cranial sacral therapy, click here.
This comprehensive approach, dealing simultaneously with the “autistic” child’s metabolic, neurological and structural issues, is what we offer at The Family Hope Center.

It is why so many parents who were told they could do little to help their children diagnosed with autism – beyond medicating them - have seen them improve to an astonishing degree once they began an appropriate program.

Brain impairments associated with A.D.D./A.D.H.D.
In addition to significant metabolic sensitivities that adversely affect brain function, children with Autism have impairments in the midbrain, cerebellum, and cortical areas of the brain. The exact location and extent of the impairments are determined through an individualized evaluation.

How Can We Help?
In evaluating children diagnosed with autism we often find that, in addition to significant metabolic sensitivities (to toxins, allergens or both) that adversely effect brain function, they show primary injuries in the limbic/emotional area of the brain - the midbrain and cortex - particularly the frontal and temporal lobes of the cortex. Following an individualized evaluation, the staff develops a treatment program that directly targets both the effected areas of the child’s brain, and the metabolic sensitivities.
