Family Victories

Physically: Simone learnt how to swim in free style with a good arm stroke during the last 6 months.

Intellectually: Her reading has boomed in this period! She went from reading a couple of pages per session to be able to read a novel for 2 or 3 hours! Her memory has improved (although she still has problems with time concepts.

Socially: She started spontaneously helping at Mindsteps, at home, everywhere. She is now responsible for her dog and prepares and cleans her hyperbaric chamber completely by herself.

Neurological Age Changes: Her overall growth rate is 4 times faster than before starting on the FHC program

Laerke P. – Denmark. 14 years

Physically: Laerke’s crawling and creeping are constantly increasing in terms of quality, speed and distance. She is also on her way to be completely toilet trained.

Socially: Thanks to the specific focus of the past intelligence program, her behavior is definitely better and doesn’t prevent her from accomplishing and enjoying her daily activities anymore.

Guy B. – Denmark. 10 years and 4 months

Physio: Guy’s health has been very good in this period.

Physically: His crawling and creeping are constantly improving in terms of speed and quality. These have helped improving his mental organization. He swims in a team twice a week, and loves it.

Intellectually: Guy is more focused and concentrated.

Socially: He can now have play dates with up to 2 other children, and handle this reduced social situation well.

Neurological Age Changes: His overall growth rate is 2 and a half time faster than before starting on the FHC program less than 3 years ago.

Marie T. – Norway. 5 years and 4 months

Physio: Marie sleeps better, and she almost has no seizures during the night anymore.

Physically: Marie’s crawling has better quality, and she presents a wider range of movements when in the water for her hydrotherapy sessions. Manually, she now drinks from a cup with one handle, eats from fork and spoon (if loaded for her) and uses her hands more when playing.

Intellectually: Marie’s vision is definitely improving: she can read more words on the same page and is more visually aware of what goes on around her. She now understands at least 20 signs of language and consistently says 4 words.

Socially: She enjoys the company of other children more, watching what they do and participating to their activities clapping her hands and laughing.

Neurological Age Changes: Marie grew of 5 neurological months over the last semester of program. Her degree of function is now 22.7%, while her initial was 17.3 %: according to the FHC IDP chart, Marie’s brain injury doesn’t classify as “profound” anymore, but as “severe”. This is the sign of a great neurological improvement.

Anna B. – Norway. 7 years and 7 months

Physio: After a bad period with her digestion, the changes in her diet have enabled her do well again.

Physically: Anna can now stand up by herself in the middle of a room, without holding to anything! Manually, her drawing is better, although she still needs some facilitation.

Intellectually: Anna can focus better and for longer periods during the intelligence program.

Neurological Age Changes: Her overall growth rate is 121% faster than her initial rate when she started the FHC program

Petrine S. – Norway. 11 years and 3 months

Physio: The supplement program helped Petrine overcome some deficiencies, allowing her to better grow.

Intellectually: Using the letter board, Petrine wrote a song with her dad. Parents decided to give a simple choice board to all the guests at her birthday: everybody has had the possibility to communicate with her and have an insight of her intelligence and personality. Her vision has improved, as mom was able to decrease the print size of her reading material from 6 to 4 cm.

Socially:

Neurological Age Changes: Her overall growth rate is 171% faster than her initial rate she started working on the FHC program 6 years ago

Fabio R. – Italy. 19 years and 7 months

Physically: Fabio does very well when in the water. He has a swim instructor and he learnt how to give backstrokes.

Intellectually: Fabio finished high school and is going to study economics (as a spectator) in a nearby University. He is now using the Facilitated Communication technique also for communicating with a good friend of his.

Neurological Age Changes: Fabio has grown 14.5 neurological months since the last time we saw him 9 months ago: he is definitely catching up with his peers!

Ida D. – Norway. 15 years and 2 months

Physically: On July 1st, Ida called her mom from her bed. Mom was in the kitchen and couldn’t go and pick her up right away, so told her to wait. Ida had just gone through a few weeks of “relaxation” marathon: hydrotherapy, reflex integration and sessions in the hyperbaric chamber being the main priority. When mom turned a few minutes later, Ida was standing behind her: she didn’t feel like waiting anymore, therefore she had started walking by herself. Since then, Ida has been improving her quality and distances… and she walks for transportation! She even packed her suitcase by herself to come for the revisit!

Intellectually: Ida is doing great in school with her peers. She is also less stressed (but she still tends to be a perfectionist!).

Neurological Age Changes: Ida grew of 8.73 neurological months during the last 7-month period: she is catching up with her peers!

Gitte D. – Denmark. 18 years and 4 months

Physio: Gitte is responding well to the planned decrease of medication she is taking for her epilepsy. The results of that are observable in all areas.

Physically: Gitte was able to achieve all her crawling and creeping goals for this period. She does very well in the swimming pool too.

Intellectually: She uses more and more sounds to communicate. They are longer, louder and with greater variety than 6 months ago. She is also calmer and controls herself better both at home and outside. Gitte is now independent in taking care of her hygiene.

Socially:

Neurological Age Changes: Her overall growth rate is 105% faster than her initial rate when she started program a year ago.

Henrik A. – Norway. 4 years and 8 months

Physio: Henrik’s health has been better this summer than the previous one, and no antibiotics were needed this time. Also, his digestion does well as long as he regularly takes his enzymes.

Physically: He is moving with better quality when crawling down the inclined floor.

Intellectually: Parents feel that Henrik now reeds and understands more like the other 5-year olds.

Neurological Age Changes: Henrik grew of 6.8 neurological months during the last 6-month period: he is catching up with his peers!
